'11 Gewurztraminer

Tasting Notes:
Our Gewurztraminer is a richly aromatic wine, offering notes of orange blossom, honey, rose petal and clove. On the palate flavors of fresh lychee, kiwi and Meyerlemon comingle with a hint of warm spice. The lush fruit flavors lead to a dry, lively finish. Pair this wine with spicy Asian dishes or our Gary & Kit's Napa Valley Toasted Coconut & Cashew nut mix.

Winemaking Notes:
The 2011 growing season in Mendocino County was cooler than usual. Cool conditions in the early part of the growing season were followed by late rains as the season progressed. Despite the challenges presented by Mother Nature this year, fruit for our 2011 Gewurztraminer was picked perfectly ripened in full, beautiful clusters with nice structure and acidity.

The wine was fermented to dryness in 30% neutral French Oak to add texture and richness and 70% stainless steel to preserve the fruit character and crisp acidity.
