Clif Family Farm offers a weekly CSA (community supported agriculture) box throughout the summer months. You can purchase a membership in our CSA in return for a weekly supply of fresh fruit, vegetables and other items from the farm. Live too far away? CSA's are starting to pop up around the country. At Clif Family Winery we're on a journey toward sustainability. Our goal is to craft unique, regional wine and foods using practices that care for the earth. We focus our sustainability efforts on four key areas: Sustainable Food & Farming, Environmentally Friendly Packaging, Renewable Energy & a Climate Neutral Footprint, and Meaningful Partnerships.
We have started the process of reclaiming some areas of the farm that have been colonized by non-native species. This winter, cuttings were taken from four native species already established on the property; California Rose, California Honeysuckle, California Blackberry and Spice Bush. We will also source locally a selection of other native species to round out the restoration project.
We are in the process of becoming Food Alliance Certified. Food Alliance provides comprehensive third-party certification for social and environ-mental responsibility in agriculture and the food industry.
In 2009, Clif Family Farm became CCOF certified—an important goal for us on our journey toward sustainability. Our commitment to organic farming goes hand-in-hand with our goal to grow food in ways that nurture the land, protect wildlife, and benefit communities and people's health.
We partner with NativeEnergy, a pioneer in the U.S. voluntary carbon market to offset emissions generated by our daily business activities. We also founded a program called Green My Shipment that allows customers to reduce the environmental impact of shipping their wine and food purchases.
